Not only is Gittings Global an expert photography company, but we are also a technology company. With a keen eye for innovation and an unwavering commitment to capturing the essence of professionals, our CTO has been at the forefront of revolutionizing an industry that has long relied on traditional portraits. Here is what Jon Rauschenberger, Chief Technology Officer here at Gittings Global, had to say on our advancements:
How do you see technology as a differentiator for Gittings Global?
- “Technology serves as a differentiator because of the clients we work for. Our clients are geographically dispersed across the US and increasingly more clients with an international footprint. Gittings Global’s scalability sets us apart. There is a need to have photographers globally to ensure we are consistent in delivering high quality images in a timely manner for hundreds, if not thousands, of staff members. This requires a strong, underlying technology infrastructure”
How is our technology structured?
- “Every piece of software and technology assets we use are tailored to Gittings from custom scheduling to consistent digital editing. We focus on and invest in everything required to deliver images at a global scale – these are things that local photographers cannot justify investing in. Technology paired with our managed global team of photographers come together to deliver images at scale that are on brief and on budget.”
Does technology touch everything in the Gittings Global process from beginning to end?
- “Technology is here to support our teams. Hundreds of photographers use our underlying technology to create images consistent with a firm’s branding at scale. Technology is in place from the beginning, starting with our scheduling process. It is difficult to schedule the sheer number of shoots, and we understand time is valuable. We put in effort to make it as seamless as possible for an attorney to spend 15 minutes in their conference room for their headshot. Our technology continues to aid in our white glove service by ensuring the delivery of images from those sessions are consistently and timely.”
What are the systems in place for the storage and cataloging of images?
- “We first must ensure we do not lose the images. One of our key values is risk mitigation. It is crucial that these images, our busy clients took time to take, are delivered. We have a robust set of infrastructure in place to ensure we do not lose images; we have multiple copies of images stored in multiple locations in both a secure and encrypted manner. Then, it shifts into the second piece of this, which is how do we retain images as long as we need but no longer? This comes down to client expectations or regulatory requirements about how long we can hold onto image files. Once we are past this time, we are ensuring that we are deleting them, which we have invested in as this has become an increasing need for our clients.”
How do we make it easy for the firm to find and search for images?
- “Part of our onboarding process is to work with the client, whether it is their marketing team and/or their technology team. We must get an understanding of how we can deliver the finished images in a way that will be most consumable by that client. We want to make sure the images can be easily found and discovered in the client’s infrastructure. We can then push those images into wherever the firm is storing their images. We are looking at a system to automatically update the attorney’s images in the firm’s directories, emails, or tools they are using for communication; a process to streamline so that the marketing team does not have to take time to move these images.”
How do we make the lives of the marketing teams easier?
- “We understand the teams we are working closely with are presented with a difficult challenge. We have built a set of tools to help the marketing team identify the employees that need to be photographed, load them into a system, track how many have scheduled and how many need their images made. We are proactively in contact to streamline getting more attorneys into the system.”
