Being a part of the esteemed Gittings Birthday Club makes it easy for you to capture these timeless moments each year so you never miss a memory.
Before each photo session, we will work together to learn about new milestones, activities, and interests in your child’s life that you want to portray in your portrait. We offer on location or in-studio options to fully engage your child at their best.
After the session, you have the opportunity to select your annual portrait and purchase additional selections if desired. Once the portrait is finalized, it will be mounted by hand directly onto a page in your handcrafted, leather-bound album.

What is my obligation as a member after joining?
Each year, you’ll select your child’s annual portrait and complimentary “Tree of Life” oval image and will purchase the birthday page image at a member discount. Both your child’s session and your family portrait sessions will be complimentary. Additional wall portraits are not included but can be purchased at membership pricing. Select products are offered up to 35% off standard pricing.
What if I miss a year, or my child is already a few years old?
Life happens, and we understand. If you’re anticipating missing a year, have already missed one, or are joining when your child is a bit older, please reach out to us directly. We’re happy to discuss your options and find an approach that still delivers the full value of membership for your family.
Can more than one portrait be mounted in the album each year?
Each year’s album page features one selected portrait. However, we do offer additional products à la carte that may be a wonderful complement if you’d like to do more with your images from a given session. Please speak with your Portrait Consultant about what’s available.
What does ‘on-location’ mean? What are the limits?
You can choose a local location. Many families love being photographed at their home, but parks and other meaningful places are popular as well. If your chosen location requires an entry fee or photography permit or pass — such as the Fort Worth Botanic Gardens — you would be responsible for covering those costs for your family and our photographer. Should you be interested in a Destination or other non-local session opportunity, additional fees will apply.
What does the album look like?
Albums are handmade, leather-bound and approximately 12×15 in (11×14 inch pages) in size. You select your leather color and embossing for the front cover. Sample albums are available in our studio for you to see and hold in person during your first design consultation. We think you’ll find it’s something quite special.
Can the family session be scheduled separately from my child's session?
Absolutely — in fact, many members do just that. For example, if your child’s birthday falls in the spring, you might photograph them then and use the family session in the fall. There’s no requirement to combine them; though if it works better for you, that I also an option.
What does "member pricing" mean exactly?
Member pricing varies by product and can be up to 35% off select items compared to our standard pricing. You can click to view our standard pricing.
Are digital images included?
Digital images are not included with the session, but they are available for individual purchase à la carte. Please see our standard pricing for details.
Can I view my portrait selections online?
Portrait selections are made during a dedicated in-studio screening appointment, scheduled separately from your session. Home monitors vary widely in color accuracy, and there’s simply no substitute for seeing your portraits projected at full size to compare your images side by side. Your satisfaction with the final portrait is of the utmost importance to us, and experiencing the images this way ensures we can tailor every detail to the exacting standards you deserve.
Can I include siblings in the portrait?
The annual child portrait session is dedicated to your child as an individual. However, if you have multiple children you’d like to enroll, each child may have their own Birthday Club membership. The included family portrait session is a wonderful opportunity to capture everyone together.
